Welcome, Wildcats!
I am thrilled to join the Salida Middle School community as your principal. As I begin my first year in this role, I’m filled with excitement, gratitude, and a deep commitment to our students, families, and staff.
Before becoming an administrator, I spent most of my teaching career working with 6th–8th grade, and I absolutely love this age group. Middle school students are curious, funny, honest, and full of potential. Supporting them through these important years is incredibly meaningful work.
At Salida Middle School, we believe every student deserves to feel seen, supported, educated, and inspired. Our focus is on fostering strong relationships, providing high‑quality learning experiences, and creating welcoming spaces where every Wildcat knows they belong. A key part of what makes this possible is our dedicated staff. The staff at SMS work tirelessly to create a safe, engaging, and caring environment for all students. Their commitment to our school community shines through each day, and I’m proud to partner with them as we continue building a school where every Wildcat can thrive.
Just as our staff and students thrive through collaboration, I am eager to partner closely with parents and guardians. Middle school can be a busy and sometimes challenging time for families, but strong communication and collaboration make a tremendous difference. Your involvement—whether through conversations at home, attending events, or staying connected with our school—helps us support students more effectively and strengthens our entire community.
Together, we will celebrate student successes, uphold the traditions that make our school special, and create new opportunities for our Wildcats to grow.
I can’t wait to meet each of you. Please feel free to stop by, say hello, or reach out anytime. Together, we’ll make this an incredible year for our Wildcats.
